 Northbay Reclaiming has a long history. There has been a continuous Reclaiming Community presence here in Northern California since the late 1980s. Over that time Reclaiming has taken root in many cities across the United States and across the globe, each area distinctive in its local flavor, community practices and activism. Yet for all of the differences, there are some common experiences that we all share. Over the past several years, Northbay Reclaiming has reached out beyond our local environs and invited teachers and community folk from many different Reclaiming Communities to be part of our collective wisdom. Folks from Minnesota, Illinois, Oregon, Virginia, North Carolina and all over California have sat in circle with us, broken bread with us and shared their collective wisdom with us. Sharing and making accessible knowledge, leadership and power are core values throughout the Reclaiming Community and with that in mind, we thought that this blog might serve as another vehicle to connect and share our most valuable resource – ourselves!
